Welcome to my Vet Animal how to videos. My name is Doctor Cherlene Lee and today I’m going to show you a trick on how to restrain your furbaby if they’re fighting.

Get a towel and this technique, we like to call it burrito wrap. Have the towel underneath, a lot of times you will need an assistant, and today, we have Jaycee stepping in to help me. All I do, is use it for stop you from doing what you need to do, like that. Get the towel, wrap it underneath like that, and then, one tied like that, and two, and then so you have your assistant to hold. And like I said, that’s where Jaycee is restraining the hand and the arms so that it can’t move out.

So, I’m using my right hand since, I am right handed, with my left hand just at the cheekbones. Hold the head up, the mouth will open automatically. So, when you open the mouth, just drop the pill, gravity will work in your favor and it will go back to the back of their throat. You can sort of relax a little bit and see if they will do the swallow reflex. You see when they lick their lips, alternatively, you can use a bit of water and just squirt it at the side and there you go.
